Huh? I just fired up bbc.co.uk/radio1, clicked listen live using WMP (UK Only) - worked instantly.

Not sure I'd want to trust a site giving out info' like this :/

Tweak with caution. Site's like this in the hands of the wrong person will spell "disaster".

lol, just noticed he's got Server and Workstation disabled even on the 'safe' setting

Just use common sense and you'll be fine.

edit: The only thing I'd be wary of is some of his descriptions. They just aren't comprehensive.

Anyone know what KtmRm is about?

Has anyone actually tried the recommended and safe settings? Do they make a difference or is it just a waste of time?
I doubt it. They invented virtual memory for a reason.

I would be very wary of this advice, many of these services are here for a good reason and if it works why try and break it. Not enough information here, I suspect that it is another dodgy guide. I would give it another six months before we get some mature and valuable tweaking guides.

Black Viper had an extensive knowledge of xp guys,

His tweaks for xp were excellent.

This guide may be a bit dubious in places, but normally he is pretty good.

Just use common sense when choosing which services to actually turn off. and as said above if your unsure either :-

A:- leave it as is

or

B:- set it to manual, it will start then if needed.

But nowhere on that site does it allude to the fact that BlackViper had anything to do with it...
