Hello

I have just bought new hardware and installed it all in my case. Everything is connected but there is a problem. The screen is blank. I have a Gigabyte GeForce GTX460 and I have attached all the cables even making sure by reading the manual. I attached it and nothing.

The DVI to VGA adaptor seems to be missing some pins. Is that normal? What should I check?

Thanks

checked both Dvi outputs on the card?

you sure you have put both 6pin power connectors in?

Missing pins are normal don't worry about that.

Have u got speakers connected?
Are u getting beeping error codes?
What mobo is it?
Mobo should give u error codes visually or via set of beeps.
Check that the memory is fully in! Until it clicks.
Check the extra power connector 4 pin is in.
Leave one memory stick in mono only and see if that works.

Right the speakers are not connected
No beeping not even the single boot one
the mobo is an Asus m4a87td evo
the mem is fully in
no visuals or beeps
my psu doesn't have a 4 pin plug!
single ram doesnt work either :/

Corsiar cx500 500w, AMD Athlon 2 630 quad core 2.8 GHz, DDR3 4gb ram from Corsiar

Been speaking to the op, it may seem the 4 pin for cpu power is not connected!

But waiting to confirm.

The 8 pin will break in half or they may be another lead!

This sounds remarkably like my situation with my gfx card. Card spins, can hear windows booting in but no display. Turns out for me it was the pci-e x16 slot not providing enough power or was faulty in some way. Changed mobo and it worked fine :).

Have you got a spare mobo to try it with?

Not really :/ I mean I have a saturday job in a PC fixing centre but I don't want to wait until then. RJC both od the PCI-E 6 pins are connected. Yes the fans are also spinning

Can't you just run down there tomorrow, i'm sure they won't mind :). Have you got an older gfx card to try it with? If the fans spin on the gfx card then im pretty sure its the x16 slot.
