Ok

Lets get things straight first, I have never done this before and in general I am useless at chatting up women lol

But tomorrow I am meeting up with a girl I have been texting for the past week or so and we have arranged to go out for a drink and see how we get on. Now to tell the truth I am pretty nervous about it and will be slamming a few drinks before I meet her (not too many though) maybe a few beers to loosen up :)

But has anyone done this before and can give advice on how to go about it and the general rules of thumb hehe.

Don't drink before hand.

She'll smell it on you instantly and could think something along the lines of liking a drink to much :p

So yeah, don't drink, be a man and face her, she'll appreciate it :p

Don't drink, look nice and normal - don't try to be something you're not in any way, be that choice of drink, food, clothes, conversation etc....

If someone doesn't like you for who you are, stuff 'em.

Now, you could do the girly thing and have an escape card. Get a mate to call you into the evening. So if things are going pear shaped you can say, "Oh no, I have to go, someone's broken into my house/car/million pound vault" etc...

Just got a text from her saying that her work has called and asked for her to work night shift at the factory she works in :(

Yea right........ Nightmare

Should I bother trying to follow it up ?

She had to cancel it - so she can remake it. Move on.

Um. Converse, have a laugh. Ask questions. You know normal things. Oh and for God's sake you'll have plenty of time to drink when you get there, don't get half-cut before you've even made it out the door.

She probably cancelled out of nerves, or because of a genuine problem. Leave it to cool, and if you're up for it, drop her a line. At the end of the day, does it matter, it's all about the experience, so why be nervous.

Ant

It might be the ... TRUTH! Shock-horror. Yes it's worth following up.

Yeah I did follow it up just said it was a shame and not to work too hard and maybe we can hook up next week. Here is hoping :)

Thanks for the comments folks

don't be too disheartened as she could be telling the truth :)

but at the same time don't go to 'too much' effort to arrange to meet again as she cancelled... ;)

still... good luck :D not that you will need it... ;)

Do nothing.

Chances are she's blowing you off, or got cold feet. If not, the onus is on her to rearrange.
