Blocking skype on the quiet - for select machines

Hello

Is there anyway of blocking skype on select clients without them knowing?

There are people at work that are ALWAYS on skype and it starts to annoy me.

I was thinking something along the lines of adding the skype servers to their hosts file (if I could find out what address it looked at), or just killing something in the registry to stop it loading correctly

Any help much appreciated.

don't you have some sort of computer use/misuse/email policy they sign when they started working for the company? rather than doing it secretly, be up front and tell them it's not on.

Unfortunately for you - Skype is designed to be sneaky and is hard to block.

But you can set up a software restriction policy to stop skype running. If it is for select machines, then you'll need to create a new OU for them, though... or create a template and locally aply the policy - but domain policy is much stronger.
