I've been recieving numerous calls from a number where upon answering the phone, they just hang up without saying anything. When trying to return the call nobody ever answers the phone. So I got the number and typed it into google only to find it's Kitchens Direct and that hundreds of other people have also recieved harassing calls from the same number/company and have also immediately been hung up on. So I went to their site and saw they had a 'chat with an online advisor about your kitchen' button. So I clicked it and got put into an 'instant messenger' type chat with someone from their company. I thought since they have been BSing me and so many others, that I would give them a taste of their own medicine.

After asking for my number to be removed from their listing;

Sam: Ok thank you i will have it removed for you, sorry again for the inconvenience. Is there anything else i can help you with?
you: u got cam? ;)
Sam: Sorry?
you: webcam
Sam: No sorry
you: pics?
Sam: Picture regarding?
you: a/s/l?
Sam: No sorry
you: tease
you: so are you a samantha or samuel?
Sam: Sorry but for security reason i cannot disclose personal information regarding myself, can i help you with anything regarding the company?
you: yes actually
you: I've been thinking a lot about my kitchen work tops
Sam: We are a fully fitted and supplied kitchen company, we deal with full kitchens only.
you: well i need a new kitchen too, so if you throw in a few extras i'm up for that
Sam: Ok well i can arrange for someone to come out to you and give you a free quote?
you: can you come?
Sam: Can i take your details to arrange that? Can i take your full name please?
you: will you be the one coming?
you: because I want to show you around my kitchen
Sam: No sorry it is a designer
you: will it be a woman?
Sam: Either, would that matter?
you: yes, can you guarantee me a woman?
Sam: No sorry
you: hm
Sam: It's whoever is available
you: well I wouldn't really want to cook an extravagant meal for two only to have a bloke turn up
Sam: The design service is to give you a quote on your kitchen not to have a meal
you: I've just bought a breadbin
Sam: I have been advised to terminate this chat. Thank you for visiting. Good Bye.

Dam call centers/sales persons, you know what it's like when you can only ignore it for so long whilst a vein throbs in your head before sending you into a rage and making you want to shoot up one of their call centers.

Had a similar one with united utilities trying to sell me insurance for their pipes. He wouldnt get the message that i wasnt interested. So i just gave a counter argument for every reason he said io needed it, until he hung up on me.

If I were the person at the other end, I'd have signed you up for extra calls after that rubbish.

am with Op on this one, as its been happening to me a lot, lately i've turned to the tactic of just screaming and making funny noises down the phone till they hang up. Its kinda like balls of steel and urban sports, see how long they stay on the line for haha.

Simple fact is, call a "customer" once. If they not interested don't bother again. Don't take not interested as persistently be a pleb and call for 5 days straight!

I think the point some of you are not seeing is that the person making the calls (could it not be a dud fax machine or something?) is quite likely not the person on the live support ticket. In fact the person on the support ticket seemed to do his job fairly reasonably and got a load of grief for it.

I understand the OPs annoyance at the situation, but if you can't direct abuse at the exact person making the nuissance then write a letter detailing the problem to their head office so it can possibly be investigated. All you've managed is to look like a prat and abuse someone i can only assume is unrelated to the problem.

I have to agree with the OP. Orange keep pestering me to sign up to their broadband, when i tell them no thank you they try to insist on knowing my current provider which i refuse 5 time (FIVE TIMES) before getting bored and hanging up. Seriously, I know they can't help it being their job but when someone says 'no' you shouldn't need a dictionary to know what they mean.

Sounds like a few people have no clue as to how a call centre works...

The agents have no controll over the calls, they do not dial the numbers themselves, it's all done via the servers/scripts/database, supplied to the call centres via the clients etc... so well done for harrasing an innocent person just doing their job :(

OP = FAIL!

For future ref: use TPS to stop cold calls !!!

Oh of course, the machine rings a number of phone numbers and whoever picks up first goes through to a sales person (this is my understanding of the process) but it should be obvious why many people take it out on the salesperson on the end of the line.
