I was on the M1 Southbound yesterday, I was in the outside lane over taking a few cars, then I turned into the middle lane to overtake a truck when I felt a thud when going over the cats eyes, I though that was a bit strange, so after I overtook the truck I crossed into the driving lane and again I heard a thud on the cats eyes, I then carried on a bit as there services were about 5 miles away, I then over taked another truck, and then I heard nothing as I changed lane, I then went back into the driving lane, then Bang as my tyre went on the offside front.

I managed to put the spare on and drive on to my destination & back home

oh! you mean the one everyone always wants to drive in even if there is no one ahead to overtake for 2 miles.

But seriously though, why did you feel the need to post about the blow out. Was it your first time? Didn't you notice something was wrong earlier?

Did anything else happen or is that it?
Which lane is the driving lane?

well, according to my highway code there is:

Slow lane: old people / lorries / coaches full of old people
Driving lane: other drivers with the exception of:
BMW lane: reserved for us bmw drivers of course.

Why did you feel the need to post in this thread? It's an open discussion forum. If you don't like the post topic, why bother reading it and then replying to it?!

I always thought it was 2 overtaking lanes & 1 driving lane ;)

I am not sure what caused the blow out, air pressure was fine, all 4 tyres were changed at the same time, guess I'll have to put it down to bad luck, I suppose :(

Hey a tyre nearly hit me on the M1 yesterday- someone had had a blowout- guess it wasn't you though as they tyre came clean off and flew across the carrigeway at me & my car!

Where is the best place to go for my new tyres then, I suppose I might as well change both of the front tyres to match them up, unfortunaly I don't know what tyres are any good these days

my tyre stats are as follows:-

195/55 H15

TIA :)
