blown up 8800 gts

ive has my 640mb asus 8800 gts for just over a year now,

just been sat here listening to music and all of a sudden i have artifacts and lines filling my screen, i cannot boot into windows normally either, im currently on safe mode. im so raged

any suggestions what it could be?

will it still be covered by asus warrenty or whatever? thx

Raise an RMA ticket with wherever you purchased it from.

Would open case and check fan is working or not filled with dust that might of caused overheating.

Definetly worth checking fan, the fan on my old 7600gt fell off once (got unscrewed by vibrations or what ever) and had similiar effect to yours. So i just screwed it back and its still happily running in my bro's pc.

Artifacts is usually hot or bad memory. Do what everyone else says and if it don't fix it, RMA.
