Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection

I've been looking at two Asus sandybridge Z68 boards, one has Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection in the specs and the other not.

What is Blu-ray audio layer Content Protection when its in a M/B?, do I need it?

What problems might I encounter if I do or don't have it?

Mainly concerned if this effects playback of mkv files in any way.

Hoping someone can shed some light on this.

This should explain what it is. I think it`s only relevant when playing Blue-ray. But if you have a Blue-ray player and Cyberlink, it`s irrelevant, because Cyberlink contains content protection in it`s codecs.
