Right right, sure but look as far as i know.

Dad told me his friend who owns a body shop garage has a BMW 116 Series which he got it and wants to sell off, he said he needs the money for his family. dad offered him 8000. he said yes fine, dad inspected the car said it needed valeting, and thats about it, he was going to buy it to sell it straight on for a profit. but instead he asked me to try it out and see what i thought. i said yes its a nice car i would like it as a first. he told the kurdish owner he'd take it for 8k on the condition that he'd tidy it up a bit, (it looked fine to me btw) just the headlining which had a little snag/rip in it. we Contacted bmw who said it would cost 250 for a new headlining. great. thats not to bad.

so my dad test drives it i check out all the extras aircon/cd player and it all works fine. nothing at all wrong not on the outside anyway.

i go home from rehearsels/recording to find the BMW parked on the drive. i check it out. go inside and go to sleep.

i awake in the morning (yesterday) my dad explains that no one will take me on or insure me for the car, and that the only company that would insure me would cosy 6.5k.

i come home tonight from town to my mum saying my dad reasoned with the garage to say that we cannot insure it, the guy has taken it back they picked it up tonight some time while i was out and thats all i know. he could probably get the car back if it hasnt been sold but i doubt that now.

mum and dad said there taking me on friday to garages to have a look at what makes and models would suit me.

When you were doing all of this, were you high?

This story really is the kind of story that only occurs in people's heads. Unless of course it was stolen, but then this dealer who "needed the money for his family" isnt exactly going to buy it back for the same price now, is he?

There is a good reason that no rational person believes this story you know...

with a print out of this thread??

i jest of course ;)

just found out some more information my dad just woke up and came downstairs.

the reason the car is gone is because we couldnt get insurance, and the garage started demanding 550 pounds as they owed the previous owner this amount of money ( very odd in my eyes ) and my dad said no. as he couldnt get the car insured and he hadnt had it checked over properly. so he didnt want to pay out to start chasing up the money back.

i also found out the car was in a big accident, damaging the wing and both doors. they were replaced making it category d.

but i still couldnt get insurance?

does that shed any light on the matter.

Wait a second.

You will take Photos of you next to the car that you dont own any more because you dad took it back to the Dealer/owner

I could walk into a Ferrari Dealer stand next to the car and get a photo taken then post up on here saying that my relative bought it for me but because i couldnt in sure it i had to take it back.

Edit: You said this in your first post

and the othe rplaces say about 2.5k+

And then in post #60 You said this

and that the only company that would insure me would cosy 6.5k.

So did you get a quote for 2.5k or 6.5k?

This thread is a joke.

It took me 2 days, around 20hours on the phone to find the best deal I could for my first car at 18.

I got the quotes down from around £3300 to almost £2000 in that time on a higher Insurance grouped, larger engined vehicle.

You could have even got your parents to take out a policy with you as the MAIN driver and that would have given a cheaper quote althought you wouldn't earn any NCB yourself.

The car sounds dodgier and dodgier the further this thread progresses.
If I am completely honest, you sound like a stuck-up kid who is completely unaware of what the real world is like.

I smell BS as well TBH, you buy a car for at least 5k less than it is worth. Unless you live in moss side I'm willing to bet you could insure it for around 2k it will be expensive, but not impossible.
Aside from that fact, you wen and gave it back? why not wait a few days and sell it at a massive profit if you are going to get rid, buy something more suitable for a first car and have a bucket full of spare cash!
Just dont sound right matey all a bit quick.

You said you got a quote for 2.5k didnt you, not 6.5k which one is it! If you'd have looked around you could have insured it!
