Thinking of going to look at an 06 130i M Sport which popped up for sale nearby, only trouble is I don't know a lot about them. Anything I should look out for?

Any opinions on the car itself?

Try and find an LCI one (which will be mid 2007) is my advice. The pre-LCI cars have a dubious quality interior and cost more to run (they don't have EfficientDynamics).

Yes.

Did the 1 series ever get the N53 DI engine?

No, I dont think it did.
Indeed it did not.

Whilst the pre-facelift 130i isn't amazing in the sense that it's still a pre-facelift 1 series, it's still a pretty damn good car.

I've owned a pre LCI for coming up for 2yrs now. No regrets. The engine is awesome and I'm still not tired of the sound it makes. It's great fun, easy to drive if you want to cruise, yet very responsive and nimble when you want it to be. It's been my daily driver for 23,000 miles and I still get excited about driving it - it's got a real personality. Fuel is good for the engine size at 30mpg, as is tax at £245. I've spent no more than 2x service, oil top up and tyres - trouble free performance motoring. Any questions feel free to ask.

Great cars lovely sounding inline six and very rapid gets into silly speeds before you know it. Only real downsides are the tyre noise at motorway speeds and the ride isn't that great over bumpy b roads but both of these issues can be lessened by replacing the run flat tyers with normal ones.

Make sure you get one with xenon's, full leather and the upgraded hifi these are the must haves IMO

Thread bump. I didnt think I would bother with a new one.

So the LCI version (mid 2007), would you expect every 57 plate to be one? If not, what would make it obvious if it is or isnt?

Thanks
