BMW 518 a good car? (06Plate)

Hi,

One of our reps where I work got his new car today, the bmw looks really nice in black, just wondered what your thoughts where on this bmw?

are they any good?

Erm, 518i? Didn't think they had existed since the E34 :confused:

If you pay them extra you can have a 518i specially built with 7spd smg box found in the m5. It's not listed on the website yet though.

hmmmm 1.8 engine in a 1500kg car,bet thats a fast car :rolleyes:

i thought they started at 520 with the new model 5 series.

I can imagine it being exceptionally slow because that really is far to small an engine for a car of its size. Interior and build quality will still be tasty though. 525 minimum imo.

I can imagine it being incredibly slow seeing as it doesn't exist.

They don't do a 518i in the E60 - the smallest petrol engine is now the 523i, and the diesel is the 520d.

must be modified then cos there's no such thing as a fast std tt

isnt an E60 the model code for the new 3 series not the new 5 series?

There has been no BMW 528i since the 2.8 litre engine was discontinued in favour of the 3.0 M52 in late 2000.

I reckon you're all looking at it the wrong way trying to figure out which 5 series it is. I think the guy has got himself a new 318.

I'm thinking that to, cant see them doing a 518 really! you'd be getting overtaken by grannys in there electric buggys! 525 minimum, if its a fleet car, it will either be a 520d or a 530d.
