BMW and M Power Owners

Yep - carbon black is truly amazing with the blue flake through it - unfortunately not quite as nice as estoril blue and most importantly techno violet. Yep I'm buying good coilovers, HSDs or BC coilovers which is what most cutters run and they both get good reviews.

Don't buy HSD or BC, they are crap. If you want a good set of coilovers buy some KW V3 with Turner top mounts.

Before the 2012 Model Year, the Drive Selection button was present if the car had at least one of the following options:

Variable Damping Control
Adaptive Drive
Sport Automatic Transmission

From the 2012 Model Year onwards all cars got it as standard irrespective of fitted options.

All F10's have a digital joystick (Though it is subtly different on SAT fitted cars and has a leather shift gaitor). That one though does have the Sport Automatic Transmission.

What a terrible collection of photos. 'Here is my car in the pitch black. Here is the interior of my car looking like a dustbin with random junk everywhere'. Why do people do that?

Thanks, good to clear that up. It's not the best advert, but it has some good options and low mileage for the prices. Seems worthwhile checking it out.

That looks very good.

FYI I literally just 'paid' 23k for a 2013 build with similar spec and higher mileage (45,000)

Mine doesn't have the EDC or Dynamic drive either.

I say 'paid', I got a good trade in on my existing car, but that was the selling price before the trade in.

That's a good price. There are very few 13 plate+ high spec cars out there under 25k.

BMW have nicely made this as confusing as possible.

'Dynamic Drive Control' is the rocker switch which allows you to chose between driving modes, firming up throttle response, steering feel and gearbox mode. This is fitted to either:

a) A car with the Sport Automatic Transmission option
b) A car with the Adaptive Drive option
c) A car with the Dynamic Damping option
d) A car built after September 2011

'Dynamic Drive' is the active suspension system which uses active stabilisers to control bodyroll.

'Dynamic Damping Control (or VDC, Variable Damper Control) is the electronically adjustable suspension which allows you to change the firmness of the suspension.

'Adaptive Drive' is an options package which combines Dynamic Drive and Dynamic Damping Control/VDC together.

 Too confusing. Thanks for clarifying. I suppose the best way of telling is by checking the VIN for the options.

I'm in two minds whether to go through or not. Everything is in place, £2500 deposit then £437 for 47 months. They want a returnable £500 deposit then to confirm the spec of the car for a mid December delivery date.

What's the deal? £23k over 4 years seems like a lot to me. How likely are you to keep it for 4 years?
Don't do it. A used Z4 35i is a much better prospect. The M135i is comparatively boring IMO.

Basically this, it's about right.

Not seen this 'flood' of 62 plate 530d Tourings at £21k though!?

Yeah I suppose once you add the warranty into it, it does become less appealing however a warranty is another £1400, so £16.9k is still a good price all in.
If you can point me in the direction of 62 plate AUC 530d's that'll be great :D

This seems to be the norm for £21k:

I know it's "only" a 525d and not a 530d or 535d, but this seems like a well priced car.

EDIT - could be a scam though!

I just phoned this guy. Here's how the conversation went:

Me - hello?......hello?......hello?
Him......(tv noise in the background).....hmmmm.....hmmmm.....yeah....
Me: Er, just calling about your car for sale on autotrader.
Him: hahahaha, yeah...it might be still there...you want it?
Me: So it's still for sale?
Him: Yeah
Me: Ok whereabouts are you located?
Him: South West London, Clapham. You want it?
Me: I'll call you later then to arrange a viewing, thanks. *put the phone down*.

Very weird conversation. I'm no longer interested in the car!

Doesn't look light on options to me at all. Comp pack gives you bigger 20" wheels, you have the better hifi option, the sports seats and the LED headlights. You don't need anything else IMO. Perfect spec for me.

They come fully loaded pretty much.

Though a reversing assist camera wouldn't be a bad idea....fairly big car.

They do come with a lot of kit, but you still need things like the 20" wheels and HK to make it that bit nicer. The fact that the one above has those as well as the comp pack and LED headlights would keep me interested.

IMO it's not big enough that a reversing camera is essential and I wouldn't let it put me off a good car with a healthy spec. You already have a pretty good graphic display for the PDC.

I'm going to look at an F10 M5 tomorrow morning (2015). It's a bit light on options.

M Multi-function front seats
Aluminium Trace interior trim
Competition package
Harman Kardon surround loudspeaker system
Sun protection glass
Adaptive LED headlights

Is there anything important/useful it's missing?

If you get the VIN you can check the full spec on here:

Phoned a BMW garage next to my office to view a 530d they have in stock. Within 30 mins they sent me over a video of the car, with the salesman going round it, showing the options etc. A nice touch!
