Fox and co just wondering what are the acceptable mods to an SE so that it doesn't look so dull? (pics in support please!)

The sport stuff is the obvious answer but I wouldn't want to pretend it was a sport.

The Alfa will need to go some day (Nearly 90k on it) and the 5 series has always been top of my list.

I know some people will say "Just get a sport" but a) there are more SE's available and b) the SE suits my 100 mile a day motorway commute

So back to the original question, what are the acceptable upgrades for the SE?

The only thing you can really do is fit all the Sport kit to it. There is an Alpina alternative but... not much beyond that. The SE just doesnt work with the weirdo shape of the E60.

There are certainly not more SE's available - of every 5 E60's BMW sells, 4 are M Sport now :(

If you are doing 100 miles on a motorway the you won't really notice the harder suspension sport, especially if you put non-run flats on it.

I find the GT passes through every bump and imperfection in the road so am looking for a smoother saloon to waft along in!

W211 Facelift E Class?

The 5 Series is the sporty executive saloon, the W211 is the wafty one, the Lexus GS is the reliable one and the Audi A6 is the crushingly dull front wheel drive one.

Runflats are of the devil. No good can come from these.

My friend just picked up an AUC 09 120d SE with 2k miles on the clock for 20k. It has runflats. He was going to take it back based on the fact everytime he went around a corner in the wet his back end went skitz. He solved it by ditching them in favour of some Goodyears. These aren't £300 a tyre and last longer than 4 minutes

E class is second on the list. Not looked at the GS so will take a butchers. Not really that interested in the A6 but I suppose it needs a test drive to rule out.

People actually buy these? I thought they were made to be courtesy cars

I was supposed to have one as a courtesy car today, but the person who had it yesterday hated it so much they crashed it into the back of a Land Rover.
