Obviously it's a 3 series, but is it possible for someone to surmise spec and approximate year/facelift typey things from this rather poor zoomed phone cam image?.. The guy parks down the road regularly and every time I drive past I find myself craving one.

Can get more pics tomorrow if this is no good.

It looks like a facelift Coupe. There isn't really any way of telling what engine is in it because they all look the same on the outside, it could be anything from a 318Ci to a 330Ci/Cd.

It looks really nice, the wheels suit it well.

I'm not an expert, but the reg in the DVLA checker shows it as a 2000 318Ci (1895cc engine), and I hope they've renewed their tax!

I can't add much more but if you're going to take another photo and want more details of the spec on it then get one of:

The rear bumper - to look for parking sensors
between the seats and door if you can get an angle - look for presence of electric seats
drivers side door armrest - look for presence of electric mirror control

and then the dash and gear stick area should provide enough info for other things that can be discerned like auto/manual, radio/sat nav etc. etc.

Bloomin eck, how did you read the plate from that pick?. You are the lawnmower man  .

So we're going with facelift coupe?, (with ABC Schnitzel alloys - or good reps).

My Ti's dying and there's every chance that this mother (or one of its bretherin) will become my next purchase..

Righto BigT, i'll get a few snaps of the rear etc, tbh i'm not concerned with the tick sheet spec, I was more wondering which model number it was and whether it was pre/post facelift, and it looked a little different to most of the 3's that i've seen around (probably due to the alloys/ride height and the stance on my road).

Tried S9 HAD first, but:

The vehicle details for S19 HAD are:

Date of Liability 01 12 2006
Date of First Registration 18 04 2000
Year of Manufacture 2000
Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1895CC
Vehicle Colour BLACK
with BMW as the manufacturer is too much of a coincidence :).

Boot lid should have the model number on it, but if its been found on DVLA then no real need to check. My 330Ci used to sit low on stock suspension like the picture and form some angles certainly came across as having been lowered.

Oh, and I can tell you it does not have the optional mud flaps. :)

And it doesn't have the chrome trim around the windows but I don't really know which models had it and which didn't, if it was an option or if it changed with the facelift.

Is the engine good? ;)

It's about the only completely living part of the car :p . If I sell it off (or break it) I'll see if you're interested first dude, then obviously it'll go on RT.

Pre-facelift coupe it is then.

318i pre-facelift coupe with ACS wheels. Looks like it's a Sport too.

It has the 4 cylinder grille. 320cd not introduced until facelift.

The black trim was standard on the Saloon Sports, I assume it was on the Coupes too. There was an option to change your Chrome for Gloss black on the SEs, but was around £280 for the privilage.

For future reference on e46 Coupes:

This, I believe is a pre-facelift Sport with the pre-facelift Sport bumper:

This is a pre-facelift Sport with the facelift front bumper (factory fit):

This is a facelift Sport - not the same bumper but different lights (and wings):
