My spare key arrived in the post this morning, only thing being the buttons do not unlock the car. I presume this is because it needs programming? Is this something BMW have to do, or can I do it? It unlocks the car and turns the ignition on.

Any ideas?

Also 330CI badge came though too, so I will put this on at the weekend :D

Yes it needs to be programmed with the correct equipment. Unless your car if booked in for a service or such BMW dealers like to charge a small fortune for key updates.

Probably worth calling a few indy specialists, they will probably only charge you £20-40 to sort it.

It was sent by the dealers as the car I brought only had one key, so when I take it in end of the month, I will get them to do it for free

Good Luck - my dealer charged me about £100 once to get the alarm re-set and the keys re-activated...
