Hey guys, i've had my Civic a little over 3 months, when i bought it i noticed that the rear bump and rear wing don't fully align leaving a small gap on the side, i've been told that it just indicates that one side of the bumper has been screwed on too tightly (in this case the left) leaving the right not connecting fully, just wanted to get your opinions on it and best course of action.

The reasoning behind it seem logical, there's no bumps, dents or any impact marks of any kind, so was just looking for further opinions really, thanks!

Could have been taken off at one point due to a shunt and the damage hasn't been fixed correctly?

Other than that it could have poped out of a clip.

The wife has got a civic just like that, and the rear bumper does exactly the same. It had the rear bumper replaced after a Grandad rear-ended it whilst she was stationary on the motorway!

My pre face lift model is like that, not quite as pronounced but it is still noticeable. Maybe it's because every other panel fits so well that makes it stand out

Think its a common issue on Hondas - if you remove the bumper, you'll see the means by which it has been mounted is a load of chuff. Although I havent done it myself, i've heard its pretty simple to rectify.

need a pic of the otherside to compare really,

take it to a bodyshop or honda garage if you really want it fixed at a guess though!

Yeah, last service i had at Honda a week after i bought the car i asked about it to check, the guy didn't really do much aside from say its fixable but will cost about 2 man hours so £75ish, can more than likely get it done for about £25-30 somewhere less Honda-ish!

Just wanted to ask about it to see if it was more common really, would rather that than it be from a previous owner shunt! :)

Nearly all the facelifts suffer from this IIRC.
He's right, my CTR is not far off that. It's called "crappy mass productionism", or something.

My local dealer basically told me there wasn't anything I could do about it short of "buying another bumper and trying that".
