Took a stoll over to the village bonfire and fireworks - was expecting to get many decent shots as I didn't know exactly where the bonfire/fireworks would be. Got there and decided that I would go behind the church to try and get some "different" shots to everyone else there with cameras. Anyway here is what I managed :

Waiting for something to happen I got these 2

Sods law it all goes off right behind the church tower - so I moved across a bit but still wasnt great

However, at the end of the field I found a great shot

Then decided to try and be fancy and make the fireworks look like the little tree in the foregroun (more luck than skill)

The fireworks kept coming so thought I might aswell try and capture some regular fireworks shots.

Number 4 is sensational. Never normally impressed with fireworks shots but here i am, maybe it's because the focus for me was on the gravestones and the fireworks just provided a nice backdrop, either way, great shot. :)

3 and 9 are awesome! really great shots! absolutly something different, have a lot of atmosphere.!

4 and 9 are really good. 4 might benifit from a tighter crop. But its still great as it is. Really like having something more than just the fireworks in the photos as it makes them stand out from all the other threads on here.

Top stuff :D

Thanks for the comments everyone.

I fancied taking some shots of fireworks but didnt want just the normal fireworks in the sky so I am glad I managed to capture these :)

Yeah I need to have a play with it - It was so hard taking shots in the middle of a pitch black field. For one you cant see where the edge of the view finder is as the blackness matched perfectly...and the tripod was fairly low to give the fireworks a good scale and presence. Was good fun though :) and not too cold, thank god!
