bookdepository.co.uk - Reliable?

Use them a lot, their delivery can be a little slow - up to a week I've found, but it's free delivery. They post their books out in thinly padded packets so can sometimes arrive a little dog-eared, but their service is good and they're cheap, so I'd have no problem in recommending them, must have bought 20-30 books from them in the past.

Thanks.

Was only a penny cheaper than Amazon, will stick with them - LOL

I know it is free delivery but Ive found Amazon to be very reliable with their free delivery service. allways well packaged too.

I would like to use other companies instead of "BIG MEGA CORP INC" but what can you do when in this instance they do offer a good, reliable service.

Honestly given up to maybe 50p to a pound's difference I'd use Amazon instead too as their cardboard packets protect the books better. I often find bookdepository up to £3 cheaper on normal paperbacks though, which is when I use them. :)

Edit: I've also used find-book.co.uk before too, where I found the entire collection of True Blood books for ~£10 for my wife's christmas. Handy site!

I've used bookdepsitory via Amazon marketplace, ok service but delivery could have been quicker a few times.

I don't know if it's the case all the time but the one hardback I ordered came in a cardboard packet rather than the padded envelopes that the paperbacks come in.

Absolutely. The only problem I've found is that they tend to sent their orders in little bubble/jiffy bags which the postman sometimes has great pleasure in destroying at the sorting office so you might end up with a dented book. My copy of The Fountainhead for example, turned up with a slightly abused spine which miffed me a little. That said, it's nothing to do with BD themselves and all to do with RM.

That said, if you don't qualify for the free-delivery elsewhere, they can be much cheaper. It's best just to shop around really, but I've snapped a few bargains from BD thus far.

For example, Cormac McCarthy's The Road (which we have discussed in the book-club) was purchased for the grand sum of about £4. Bargain.
