Booked a 2 week holiday at end of June with Thomson a couple of months ago. I was just browsing their website and saw that the holiday (exact hotel, flight times, dates etc) is now about £250 cheaper per person :confused: It's not as though it's a last minute offer or anything!
Between my mate and I it's £500 lost....or is it?
My mate called them and they said there was nothing we could do but in the T&Cs it states;

"If any change in our costs would cause a reduction in your holiday price, we will not make refunds of amounts less than 2% of your holiday price (calculated as above), but we will refund in full amounts exceeding such 2%, after deducting an administration charge of £1."

Anyone else been in a similar situation and am I clutching at straws?
I think it's gonna have to be a trip into one of their travel agents to speak in person. I'll take a wet fish with me incase they need a slap round the face with it!

Ta!

Go in with your receipt and a print off of their T&C's. From what you have posted they owe you some money!

Go in with a axe and demand the money you are owed or you will take £500 pounds worth of limbs

But it was slightly amusing :p Id go with the talking to them in person it always seems to get things sorted better than talking to someone on the end of a phone

is there a cancellation charge?
Undoubtably, but there may be a certain date it arrives at that affects it.

Also check your holiday insurance, it may cover such things.

You could also take insurance out, and then notice ;), and then claim.

Of course, I wouldn't recommend this last one. But your current insurance might cover it.

also next time ensure you perform a full market analysis before you put down the cash.

where si the holiday to?

To me that quote from the T&Cs reads to be more about their costs, not the price they charge. For example, if the cost of your accommodation fell substantially then they'd pass the saving on to you.

However, as you're going at the end of June you may be able to cancel the trip you've already booked. Sure, you'll probably lose some money, but you would quite probably end up saving money overall.

Yep, can't help in trying but in reality they'll just be looking to fill hotel rooms rather than there being a £500 drop in their cost.
