I've finally booked my first driving lessons :D
£152 for the first 10 lessons, and it varies after that, probably book another 10 which is £17/hr, pretty good i think :)
Quite nervous but really looking forward to it as well! Just glad to be getting them out the way :p

First one's tuesday at 1.45 :D

£25.6 / £24 an hour per lesson, oh dear... BSM = Bad School of Motoring :p
You should have opted for The AA, more comfortable cars and a tad bit cheaper.

Only cost me £18 an hour 2 years ago with The AA, was £23 with BSM back then, wouldn't see them being anymore expensive today.

However, that said, as long as you get taught to drive properly and you are happy with the lessons, there shouldn't be much to complain about :)

BAsically for half of the lesson, th einstructor goes through all the theory. For example he/she tells you about Mirror Signal Manouver.

Then for the rest you start to drive around, so the instructor knows at what level he/she can should start teaching you at.

Well, that was great fun :D
Did 6 or 7 starts and didnt manage to stall it once, which i'm really pleased with. Steering on the damn thing is weird, had to turn the wheel almost 360 degrees to do a 90 degree turn which seemed weird :p

He seemed fairly pleased with my general knowledge of the roads, and one time he asked me to stop, almost stopped in front of a driveway, but then realised i'd better not. He said most people would just stop where instructed, but he said it was excellent how i'd gone a bit further so not to block someone's driveway :)

So, really good, next one is Saturday, looking forward to it already!

Would depend on if you have (or have said ;)) you have driven before. My first lesson involved:

Layout of the controls of the car I'd be driving.
10 mins in a housing estate.
40 mins of NSL country roads.
5 mins driving home from town.

I spent about 45 mins doing the controls, mirror, signal, maneoeoeurouover, all the basic stuff. Then practised a few starts, did some driving, then the instructor showed me the push-pull thing for the steering wheel :)
