..of a Corsa VXR on thursday.

I had a poke around one while my parents were looking at cars, so I thought I'd give one a try. Just from sitting in it, it felt a LOT different to my 205, purely from a size point of view, its massive!

Anyone driven one? What should I expect?

If its anything like the Vectra VXR then expect a lot of understeer. Unless this time Vauxhall have tweaked the chassis and supension rather than leave it alone.

The Corsa VXR is meant to be fantasic, the best of the VXR range! They say that Vauxhall have got it spot on this time.

It's still a Vaushall thou...I'd be inclined to spent my money on a Honda Civic Type-R.
Because Honda is a better badge than Vauxhall! :o

Suposed to be a decent car, Evo thought it wasnt bad anyway!

I wouldnt mind driving a load of hot hatches but im afraid of dealers and dont think would get used to the car with just a short test drive, probably spend all my time trying to get some feel from the pedals and used to brakes which bite!

Vectra VXR was redone after the Top Gear episode and apparently now is a real contender, seem to remember reading article somewhere of it around nurburgring keeping with an evo and a 330 quite happily?

EDIT: here

Expect the corsa vxr to be pretty good tbh, astra vxr would still be my choice but i've lots of good things about the corsa. If memory serves me, Fox approved them on here not long ago!?

May be a little, but depreciation and resale value of a Honda is going to be higher never the less.

There is no harm to a test drive thou, it's your money but this is just my opinion.

Honda make a v-twin lawnmower, so on that front, yes, it is a better badge :D Honda are a great firm!

BUT

The new civics look like spaceships, and also look the same from the back as they do from the front, so they lose on that front :D

I think (hope) he's inferring that Honda build much better quality cars than Vauxhall, not that Honda is seen as a more prestige marque. And I'd definitely agree with him.

I'm not spending any money, its purely to satisfy my need to know more about cars :)
