1. "Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan," $26.4 million

as expected Sacha Bohen Cohen has recently signed a deal worth £22-25 million to make a new film on the character that was in Ali-G the Gay Austrian fashion designer. we'll see what he makes out of that

LOL went to watch it today, funniest film i have seen for ages, couldn't believe some of the things he said i.e "genuine chocolate face"
one of the first times i have seen a whole film in stiches, i.e an incident envolving a bear and an ice cream van hahahahahahahaha
I would highly recommend this film, so go and watch it now!!

It was really good but I reckon I expected to much from it (looking forward to it for months) and I think I ended up enjoying dirty sanchez more which I seen couple weeks previous and did not expect much from :p . But yeah top film well worth watching, SAW 3 rubbish

had to watch bits of it through my fingers to be honest, some really, really cringeworthy scenes. The naked wrestling was absolutely eyeball-searingly wrong, I needed to scrub my retinas with wire wool after watching that.

''Give me your tears, Gypsy woman" hehe

Even if you think his shows are not that funny id recommend seeing this film as i didnt think i would enjoy it but it was hilarious.

The ironic thing is that despite the portrayal of Kazakhstan etc, the country that comes out the worst, is the USA.

I'm off to see this tonight, reallyl ooking forward to it. Should be much better than the Ali G movie as it's basically an extension of the format of the short sketches from the TV series which is hilarious whereas the Ali G movie took the character and put him into his own world which was nowhere near as funny.

I think they actually filmed most of the Kazakhstan for the the movie and promos in Romania.

Did anyone else feel this movie was a bit "dumbed down" from what Borat is really about? I mean, the naked wrestling was funny, mainly as a result of the obese man and amusing positions. But it could have been a scene from any slapstick comedy movie. I was slightly disappointed by some of that kind of stuff. To reiterate on my point earlier in the thread, I'd have liked it to be a lot more focused on the clever type of humour (which is what makes Borat) rather than the 'cheap laughs' style humour.

Just got back from seeing this and thought it was very good. However, I didn't have me in the stiches that I thought it might. Still worth seeing though.

P.S. If anyone hasn't seen it, and hasn't watched the trailer/s.....dont as in my opinion the trailers give away some of the best bits.

I have to agree. I couldn't believe how hostile the people in New York (I think it was) were. Or the neighbourhood he was driving through and just getting abuse hurled at him and things thrown at him. I’m curious if they really are that hostile as I always though of the USA as being quite friendly.

The film was very good though.
