The complete disregard for health and safety was incredible, in that sense it was like watching Dickensian times.

It was ridiculous, and it ultimately put the last nail in the coffin of group B. The spectators were at least partly to blame with their stupid antics, they were given the freedom to spectate on special stages and they totally abused the privilege. However, the organisers should have clamped down on it from the start.

Does anyone think there'd be room for another outing of a mordern version of Group B now? Considering the hugely increased safety organisation of spectators and so on, and the massively increased safety of the cars themselves, I'd love to see a comeback. OR would the cars be simply too fast for the drivers to cope with in this day and age, now that we're more technologically advanced? I know Michele Mouton (now the FIA head of WRC) is wanting to bring back the longer stages of the '80s at least.

Watched one last night dad had it on record, very very sad those crashes. The one into the spectators I physically recoiled in my chair!
