just thought I would post some comments on my new Bose PC setup.

After a lot of thinking, options, pricing and wondering I finally decided to stump up and go for broke!!!

Bought and installed the companion 3 on Thursday and all I can say is WOW - the sound is amazing and thats just from the crappy onboard soundcard - the E-MU will be here on Monday and I just cant wait to hear my music in full bloom.

I love listening to my music on my PC (dodnt do games) while I am working and have been without speakers for about 4 weeks having donated my previous setup to the wife's shop!!!!

At £200 for the Bose, its a bit extravagent but well worth it IMHO!

Dead easy to set up - literally plug and go and works from the analogue out on the MB!

My other options were . . .

  • Bespoke car derived system - 2 x 6x9's + a sub + an amp + a PC PSU all "Plumed" in to my pc desk
  • Some of the usual suspeacts from a well know PC retailer
  • Home Hi-Fi

In the end the SEXINESS of the Bose + QDOS + convenience + I couldnt be bothered to DIY - made up my mind.

opinions opinions LOL!

I am WELL happy - but thanks for all the should've, would've, could've - LOL!

With limited space - the Bose does the job!

If I had more room - I would have hooked it up to my Yamaha DSP A2 + B&W DM580 floor standing (1980's) monsters.

But with a small home office - the Bose are FABULOUS IMHO and take up only about 8 square inches of space!!!!!
