I'm trying to find out the specifications for these but seem to be getting nowhere. Ideally I want to know things such as output/watt and anything else that is useful. The offical website isn't as helpful as it should be.

Reason I ask is that I am thinking of upgrading from my CREATIVE GIGAWORKS T20.

I have a Creative X-fi (entry level card) and I'm also wondering if I would need to upgrade this card as well if I went to the BOSE speakers. (I'm hoping I dont need to upgrade though!).

Thanks.

Well I'm not to happy with the Creatives and I will be honest I have always liked the BOSE Companion for about 3 or so years. I have heard them myself and they sound good but I'm trying to be sensible by comparing them over my T20s. I also dont know about the soundcard I have so any opinions appreciated

Bose don't release specs of there products. There is no need to upgrade your soundcard, as the speakers are still the inferior sounding part.

If you care about sound quality don't buy Bose, and don't buy PC speakers. I'd look at a stereo integrated amplifier and standmount speakers.

All for £200? I dont want to spend more than that.

Then i question whether you have heard the BOSE at all.

I have heard them in various stores. The last store I saw them they were connected to an average laptop and still the sound was pretty good.

I wouldn't go as far as calling the sound horrific. To each his own I suppose
