As per the title, am i going to be seeing some hilarious CPU bottleneck with these cards?

AKA - do i have blagging rights with wife to buy a Quad

A C2D at the 3.3Ghz mark is just about the point where modern graphics cards do not become bottlenecked by the CPU so you should be fine

sweet, shall crank it to 3.3ghz and see what happens.

BTW, anyone know if it was 3DM '05 that didnt like ATi cards and gave non joyous scores?

You will lose some performance to other c2d's because of the low l2 cache but if you overclock it to around 3.3 you will be fine

A single 4770 would cream that res, so id say your resolution is the bottleneck to.

u could try to overclock more if its possible, but its already not small oc probably need bigger screen
