It looks quite cross about it though!

Had the GS for nearly 5 years now and will never sell it but just had a sports bike/trackday itch I needed to scratch again (came from a GSXR1000 before the GS). Always liked the look of the S1000RR, but only in the motorsport colours. I couldn't justify a 2015> for the amount of use it will get, but I still think the original ones look pretty awesome.

Just need some warmer weather now, but going to book in a few days and Cadwell and Oulton for the spring months. Loved track days in the past but always struggled to find the time without eating into holidays, but now working a 4 day week so a lot more free time.

Bring on the sunshine!

Nice! That shape is sexier/meaner than the new shape, its like that girl you're going out with. But her older sister is just so much better! :D

Yeah, I prefer this shape and colour scheme. I know the 2015 3rd gen has much better electrickery suspension but I can certainly live with this for the odd sunny blast and track day!

A guy just traded his 2012 for 2016, he said that the QS isn't as responsive.

I don't know why some people say that the newer S1KRR looks better, it looks retarded compared to the older gen. Did you get it from BMW dealer or private?

Yep! :D:cool:

From a dealer in Leeds (not franchised). 2011, 8k miles, Full dealer service history and completely mint - looks a lot newer than my GS which has seen 5 winters now! Also has brand new BT16 tyres on it, so should be all set to go when the weather improves!

Went out for a proper ride yesterday to scrub the tyres in. Came back with aching wrists, a sore arse, eyes on stalks and the most fun I've had on a bike in a long time!

Got in a good 90 miles in the dales on mostly dry roads (apart from the farmers mud that nearly caught me out)

It's a long time since I've ridden a sports bike after owning a GS for 5 years, and I'd forgotten just how exhilarating they are on the right traffic free road. The bike is immense - I can't believe the smooth power from right down in the rev range and the way it builds into a proper crescendo of power and noise above 10k.

Really fantastic couple of hours - can't wait for proper spring and a few track days :)
