Bournemouth ...

So, on a whim, the jinks family are off to Bournemouth for next week. Does anyone know much about the Mayfair hotel? Anyone got a reccomendation for a good eatery?

Fish and chips down on the seafront is pricey but nice. Don't know anything about that hotel but it can't be worse than the last hotel I stayed in in Bournemouth!

Last time I stayed in Bournemouth it was in a mate's garage on a double mattress. Gotta be better than that

Aruba on Bournemouth Pier is always good for eating with excellent atmosphere. If you fancy a walk, walk along to Boscobe Pier (a mile) and see the notorious world acclaimed "reef" which is still being built. A nice little harvester there too, or walk a bit further past and let the joys of the "Urban Reef" restaurant / bar / cafe entertain you.

Other than that, there is the usual eclectic mix of chain Italians pubs / bars and clubs.
