How much of a lip around the edge of a brake disc is deemed acceptable? I only ask, as my discs have perhaps a mm (maybe 2 at a push) of lip around the edge. The surface of the disc is fine, and the brakes pull up strongly.

I remember the guy who was looking to buy my old car felt round the brake disc, noted there was a slight lip - only just discernable by running your finger from the disc off the edge, of perhaps half a mm or so... He said - worn brake discs there, knock some money off for that...

I said, no, don't be silly, they're fine for ages yet. But the discs on my car are a little bit more worn than that, so....

It's a Pug 106gti with 247mm vented discs, 20.5mm wide.
