Don't forget about warranty.
A very good point, typically OcUK use an MSI base card (OC version when available) and will cover you for the full 3 year warranty period! Can't argue with that

Don't forget about warranty.

Well I think this is a brilliant course that OC are sailing their good ship on. I for one am seriously considering purchasing an OCUK waterblock-fitted gpu when I come to upgrade next.
I just hope that OCUK's warranty position is clear, expedient and consumer friendly. I shall be keeping my eye on this "feature" before I commit to a purchase.
the warranty is designed with you guys in mind.
if something goes wrong, we sort it.
its really that easy. you dont have to deal with the vga vendor, because these go through our technical dept for building and testing, it means they are handled on our system the same way as a full system or overclocked bundle.
this means we do repairs/replacements in house.
the odd ones that have gone faulty in the past have been replaced [block transferred onto a working card etc] in house within 24 hours of it landing at OcUK HQ
that is something you simply wouldn't get if you got a regular graphics card.
Do you think there'd be any chance you guys would get rid of the NFF fee for the first time per return? I'm sure a step like this would turn OcUKs reputaion for RMAs around somewhat...
Question,
If i was to order the 670 with xspc block and add the backplate to the order as well would you guys fit the back plate at the same time as doing the main block or would it come seperate for me to do myself?
I understand what you are saying but I cannot see a testing charge being revoked due to the amount of time that has to be put into testing equipment. If hardware is returned as faulty, a technician has to test the hardware properly to confirm or deny the fault.
This is time consuming, and our testing charges are reasonable considering the amount of time spent inspecting each return.
It is not something I could elaborate further on really and I am speaking entirely from a level of personal knowledge about the workings of another department and not replying in an official capacity
Besides, there are two separate departments that deal with returns.
Standard returns technicians deal with a regular graphics card return, our system builds department deal with tech labs cards. A returned tech labs card is treated in the same way as if it was a full system, so it gets more testing and is dealt with by the technician who originally assembled the card.
