Bravo channel to close

^ None of those are even Bravo created though... it could be any channel showing such things.

The Channel One rebrand always felt very half arsed to me, even just the name. I'm not surprised they've now decided to bin it.

the point to remember is that no one else seems to be showing them, same with virgin 1 (channel 1 if you so wish :o) in that they seem to be the only freeview channel with any sort of sci fi what so ever these days in my opinion

Which may also be the reason they aren't getting the viewing figures?

Let's look at the shows they have for example:

Star Trek - This was a staple Sky One show for years.
The X-Files - Same as the above.

Supernatural, Leverage, V, Ghost Whisperer, Criminal Minds, Warehouse 13 and Chuck - All are their top billed shows, all are imported and could have gone to any channel, however the big players BBC, ITV, Channel 4 and Sky didn't bid for them because they clearly didn't think they would be particularly successful.

Here is their primetime viewing for today:

Nothing to Declare

Motorway Patrol
Motorway Patrol
Brit Cops: Zero Tolerance
Why Men Watch Porn
Most Shocking Busted in the Buff 3
Sexcetera
Sexcetera
MacIntyre: World's Toughest Towns
Booze Britain

It's just constant nothing programming, it could be on literally any channel.

Given that Sky owns the channel, they will just redistribute them to their other channels.

Well viewing figures might be an issue but it isn't necessarily down to the programs. IF they actually changed the shows a little rather than basically looping them (we're on the third run of voyager in a row) I'm sure they'd get higher figures. Maybe change the star trek series at 7pm to a different one, they have pretty much all of them on during the day.....

Actually IF they wanted to they could easily improve the channel by just rejigging their channels so that it caters to a specific market (not game shows, why would I want to watch that all day, it's like a shopping channel!), it's not like sky 3 actually has any real new stuff either these days

Now I'm not saying the program selection is perfect on channel one but when the company that is supposed to cater for the 'whole spectrum of viewers' is basically doing re-runs of old shows, game shows, dancing/reality type stuff and eastenders you have to take what you can get lol. Hell I'd have appreciated it if BBC actually used one of their numerous channels to show something other than the above as in most cases they're filled up with repeats of BBC1 plus some 'alternative' comedy which just isn't funny.

It's even more annoying when you have to pay for BBC even if you don't watch it :(
