Hello OcUKers....

Some of you may have listened to my band in the Music forum...

Well today we are off to Varberg, nr Gothenburg in Sweden for 3 weeks to record our debut album!

We are recording at Sonic Train Studios and are being produced by the legendary (Grammy nominated!) King Diamond guitarist Andy LaRocque!

Obviously very excited; here's our plan of attack:

1) We are leaving at 8pm tonight and taking 2x cars
2) Drive to Dover
3) Ferry to Calais
4) Drive Calais to The Hague, Holland
5) Overnight stay in The Hague
6) Sunday morning drive The Hague to Copenhagen
7) Cross the Oresund Bridge and drive to Varberg
8) Begin the armageddon!

Total = 24 hours driving, 1600 miles! Has anyone been to Sweden before? I'm particularly looking forward to the blondes!

Very excited about this, it's going to be an awesome road trip and experience and hopefully at the end will lead to a record deal!

We will be posting Studio diaries and stuff as we go along and from the trip!

Here's a pic of the main control room:

And here's my band! It's a preview of our last EP released a few weeks ago:

*PLUGMODE* If you enjoyed that you can buy it on Amazon, CDBaby or a hard copy from our BigCartel Site.

what a great tip on it's own. let alone coupled with that, pure awesomeness. Good luck and actually that preview does sound really good, when you expecting album to be out.

Probably nearer the end of 2010 to be honest... the time in the middle will be spend sending it to labels, marketing and planning for the release....

I'll of course have some sneak peaks in the studio vids though ;)

That's really cool. The tunnel bridge is pretty epic too, but tolls are expensive!

Where do you gig in Aberdeen? Drummonds, Kef, those sorts of places?

Good luck!

Gothenberg is quite nice, it won't be the time of year for you to watch car size chunks of ice float down the river as we did, I like Sweden very relaxed.

Don't expect to get buy decent beer outside hotels etc, all the beer on sale was iirc 3% including Stella etc everything was 3%, however try all the microbrewery beers very nice

We don't play much in Aberdeen these days because it's such a crap scene and very restricted....

We play quite often in glasgow actually, places like Classic Grand, The Vale, Rockers, Soundhaus we've played...

Also venture down to England like London and Southampton, Birmingham, etc...

From now on we are going to play in Europe more than the UK though because it's a rubbish metal scene here... It'll be cheap flights to Spain, France, Germany, etc for a gig or 2 on the weekends after we are back :)

will defo try local beers, sounds good! obviously the drinking and women are a major factor in this trip! ... oh and maybe some guitar playing too haha

Sounds like an awesome trip! The blondes are prob not interested in a bunch of hairy english guys though!

Which one are you?! :D

Firstly, we are Scottish guys, and more groomed than your average greasy rockers... :P

And ... Second from the left, Lead guitarist (although we both are lead guitarists!) Here's some better photos haha:

Awesome

You've got good sound going on there

How long you been playing for? / how old are you?

I'm 25, been playing guitar since I was 17/18 and just self taught.

The band has been on the go for around 5 years but really only started getting serious since the start of 2009 when we finalised our current lineup.

We added a new drummer and bassist (and the other guitarist only 6 months before that) which really was needed as it's technically very challenging music and all 5 of us now get on like family - which is essential since we are going to spend 3 weeks living together in sweden haha! As well as needing the dedication, passion and ambition to actually go through with it...

I think from now on it might start to take off (ambition talking ;) )
