Breast milk ice cream

now iv had a few let me tell you about the best milk shakes BAR NONE in London......

what you do is ring Henry J Beans in the Kings Rd in Chelsea, and ask for 2 butterscotch milk shakes to go.....

You then "he who dares wins it" with the nigerian traffic wardens while you park, run in and grab said shakes, 8 quid later you are the proud owner of 2 of Londons finest milk shakes

In the past this has cost me a 70 quid ticket plus the 8 quid, but even then they are delicious

You do need at least two though !

The milk goes throuhg the same screening process that blood does, so it won't have HIV at point of supply.

Only issue I have is they could be making much better use for the milk by donations to the hospitals for premature babies so they can actually be fed on breast milk instead of supplemental forumulas where required. There is sucha breast milk bank in Northern Ireland and I think it is an excellent job.

Not enough people in the UK breastfeed, that is a shame.

Unless I'm very much mistaken, the articles both say the donors are screened in the same way blood donors are. Their milk isn't screened itself, according to the article, just 'pasteurised'.

So while at least you know it doesn't have the bad AIDS, goodness only knows what made it through to the milk that didn't show up on a blood test... yet. :p

EDIT:

Health checks for the lactating women were the same used by hospitals to screen blood donors.

So who knows? While I agree it's a socially conditioned response ("Cows' milk good, breast milk bad"), I'd still rather stick to the conventional sort of ice cream, personally.

The idea of breast milk ice cream freaks me out, as does the fact that at the same time I have no problem with milk from other species :-/
