Heard about this on a radio call in last night who also said this event was instructed to have a media black out.
Someone filmed it and stuck it on the net. It must have been some strike to cause the old guy a cut like that, but to be told by the police its nothing obviously made him mad, and then he did the stupid thing, swear at them so they arrested him there and then.
Whats your thoughts ?

(Brian Haw is an old man who has decided to camp outside the house of commons for years in a protest for peace and seems to be being a pain to the goverment)

There's always two sides to a story. Although, the Police reaction does seem a little OTT, which is definitely cause for concern.

True police brutality does not exist in this country, mostly what you hear, read, see is over zealous tabloid moron journalists sensationalising mundane crap in order to sell newspapers. This iresonsible journalistic style is then taken in by the majority of the plebeian society of this country and translated to equal the truth of what actually happened when the truth couldn't be any further from the way it was reported.

Like the title of the thread for example!

I've seen Police beat innocents in a crowd before just because they're the easiest to reach with truncheons.

Where was this?

Bearing in mind the ammount of CCTV that is in football Stadia in this country I am pretty sure we all would have heard about it if it had happened.

That is not true police brutality. I have felt the rough end of the police before just for being in the wrong place at the wrong time and it certainly wasn't brutal, brutalising or thugery.

If you want to see real police brutality watch a Turkish news channel for a few hours, then you will have a true understanding of what police brutality is

netter than what we have in strathclyde i guess :)

ours get arrested for theiving and CPO's arrested for being members of peado rings

Well you don't see the "assualt" where the camera was pushed into the guys face, also he was swearing at the police which I believe is now an offence under some "public order act".

It was "heavy handed" rather than "brutal" IMHO

It was at a football stadium, funnily enough hardly anyone believes football fans when they have stories like this.

Brian Haw is an idiot and the sooner he stops defacing parliament square the better. If a government brings in a law designed to get rid of you the least you can do is leave. If there is a mootable argument that you should be chucked out due to health and safety legislation the least you can do is wash a bit and clean up. If you're interrupting the democratic process with your stupidly loud speaker the least you can do is buy a quieter one. This man is a blight on parliament square and should be locked up for 'over 6years!' as punishment.
