The title says it all really.. won't even POST :'( weirdly the flash went along fine :/ I used the batch tools so I already have a backup of my BIOS but I can't get into Windows to flash it back?

Any ideas? Well and truly ****ed up here lol

That card's non-reference isn't it? Did you try to flash it with the bios for reference cards?

If you got another gpu you could use that to boot, and have the 6950 in another slot. Maybe you could flash before you get into Windows by booting into some tool via USB stick or CD...Never done anything like this before so no idea what specifically :). Hopefully someone else can help you more.

I believe you have to have another card as your primary card
put the twin frozr in an additional pcie slot and then flash it from there ( with origional bios )

good luck !

Heard someone here mention blind flashing. I assume this is using some sort of utility to flash and entering the commands without being able to see what's on screen.

^ Risky business doing the blind flash.

Less so if you create a batch file (on another PC of course) with the appropriate commands and switches to automate it.

However, the safest way would be two gfx cards in the same machine, one working alongside the borked one.

Hell it's just not my day.

I have a 4870X2, but it (for a reason completely unknown to me) will not fit into the primary PCI-E slot fully. Even when it's only half-connected, it's too ****ing big to have my R6950 underneath anyway, but it fits perfectly fine vice versa.

Long story short I'm going to have to stay using my rocket-engine-sounding 4870X2 in Safe Mode with Networking until I can go to my friend's house and flash it back.

By the way I don't know what blind flashing is, but I don't think it's even posting because there's the BOOT_DEVICE_LED is lit :/

Thanks for the suggestions all, I thought I was going to have to RMA it at first!

If you set up a MS-DOS bootdisk with all necessary files you might be able to flash it 'blind' if you make a batch file for flashing and remember any prompts that might pop up during the process.

Don't flash BIOS's in Windows in future, it's safest to do it from DOS.

He knew well enough that non-reference cards couldn't be unlocked easily and he still took the risk. Silly if you ask me.
I didn't, it's not mentioned whatsoever in the stickied thread here on OC :/ plus no MSI cards were marked as "Not flashable", I presumed it was safe.

Either way, lesson's learnt the hard way. Also I can't find how to set PCIE lane priority in my BIOS (check mobo in sig), any ideas? Google won't deliver :/
