ive had my fujifilm finepix S2800HD bridge camera for a couple years now and i think its time for an upgrade.

im happy with the quality of fuji cameras, mine has never gone wrong and has served me well.

im looking at better bridge cameras as these type feel right for me.

ive been looking at a fujifilm HS20 EXR, it seems ideal for me and can be had for little over £200, also the newer HS30 EXR can be found for £20 over budget?

just wondering if there may be somthing out there that is better for similar money? does anyone have any suggestions for this price range?

i think panasonic do a brigde camera that has changible lens so that would be a good stepping stone if you were thinking of moving to the next level and actually bought a dslr camera. but as for the hs serise, my dad had a HS10 and i used it few time for taking photos though it was good for what it was and he like it a lot but i had my 550d so once he used that a few time. so few months later he decide to get dslr, so he got the 600d but the usa version import version as he got it off the internet.

changeable lenses would be good but its too much hassle for me tbh, i use the camera as a hobby for car shows and such, also the costs involved with purchasing a dslr+lense are out of my price range

tesco are doing the csc panasonic g2 with 14-42 lens for £200 at the moment which is a great price and there is a £10 off voucher if you don't have an account with them already, easily the best deal at the moment and far batter then any bridge camera

Out of interest what kind of optical zoom range does that 14-42 translate to?

Panasonic are doing £50 cash-back so the gf3 can be snapped up for £200 now with either the 14mm pancake lens or the 14-42mm.

If you are happy with your current camera why bother changing at all? I still use a Fuji S5700 7mp bridge camera with excellent results.

The biggest problem with all bridge cameras is, that it is like having a 200mm lens fitted all the time, My aperture range is from F3.5 to F13.6 which is very limiting.

I would look for a used canon 300D 6mp with lens for about £180 and a used 75 to 300mm lens for about £40, mega pixels are unimportant unless you want prints over A4, what is important is the sensor size which will be much larger in a dslr.
