Brighter Whiter Bulbs

Problem with 100w ones is that in some cars they can overheat and blow, or melt the wiring.

Yes, good point, I checked with a few people I know and they had used 100w bulbs in the same car as mine and never had any issues (MK4 Astra) If you are unsure you can check the wiring and see what gauge it is then work out what sort of current it can handle.

Takes 10 minutes to stick your headlights on a relay and direct feed :) This was a common "mod" on the MK2 Golfs, as the headlights were switched without a relay - leading to a really hot interior switch :D

(Unless you have something that attempts to tell you when a bulb is out :/ )

My mate has mtech or something, he said they were like a tenner
im got going to say there better than any of these as i down have much basis for comparison but they are VERY VERY White

anyway which phillips ones do you all mean?
there like two types of extremes
Power 80% 27 for 2
and vision 100% which are 46 for 2
IM guessing visions yeah? 46 is a lot though :O, especially when you have a 306 with double headlamps

In the end I settled for the Diamond Vision, as they seem to have great reviews on the sites, If they look chavvy at all I shall be changing them for the Extremes. Looking forward to the brighter whiter lights :p

I just ordered some Philips X-Treme Vision bulbs from Powerbulbs, came to less than £30 inc delivery and a free pair of W5W sidelights (which I also need). Not too bad! I'll let you know what they're like when they arrive.

Fitted a pair of Diamond vision bulbs just this weekend, I was really amazed at the colour difference between the stock yellow bulbs and these.

Got to admit that the light output isn't fantastic due to the more blue light but adequate enough, the look of them more than makes up for it.
Only problem is now I need some better sidelights! Does anyone recommend any to match?

Spot which is which.

some led ones, the 360 degree type at a guess

I replaced the standards in my Focus with Halfords extreme brilliance, much brighter but they only last about 12 mths.

On my third set, one went last mth so the other is due to go soon. Must've spent a fair bit on bulbs in the past 3 yrs but they are much brighter, great in dark lanes & unlit stretches of motorway.

See now im just not getting that, light bulbs are to light up the road, why would you want to compromise on that for looks.
