Plane went missing yesterday, it was found today. 4 on board, doesn't look good. It's very remote up in those mountains and they would have been left up there all night- It'd be a miracle if anyone survived. :(

The Air Accident Investigation Unit has confirmed the wreckage, at Corriebracks, Church Mountain, between Hollywood and Donard, is that of the missing aircraft.

Gardaí have confirmed that one body was discovered in the wreckage.

It is feared that two teenage children may have been on board the flight.

The plane is partially buried in a peat bog.

Paramedics and the gardaí are at the crash site. Fire officers with digging and cutting equipment are also being flown to the scene by helicopter.

The Piper PA 28 light aircraft took off from Gloucester in England yesterday and was due to land at Kilrush airfield in Co Kildare yesterday afternoon. It is believed there were four people on board.

The alarm was raised when the plane had still not reached the airstrip by 7pm yesterday evening.

The plane was last spotted over the Wicklow mountains yesterday and since 7am this morning a search was ongoing in the area stretching from the Mullaghcleevaun Mountain, down to the Wicklow Gap and west to Kilrush.
