So i have come across a problem with my Logitech z5500, i have owned them between 18 months - 2 years, they've worked perfectly the entire time and in my opinion they are the best speakers in the world (probably not). Anyway i go to turn them on one morning to listen to some music but there was no bass to the music… the sub doesn't work at all now.

I have never had them on full blast for any long period of time and not recently but for some reason the subwoofer doesn't work. All the other speakers work find just not the bass.

Has anybody got any idea why this is and/or a solution to my problem?

Sounds broken to me. Can't see any way the speakers would still work and the subwoofer wouldn't, unless it had gone **** up.

Ring Logitech, many a person has had great service from them, some even when the speakers were out of warranty. Don't know if they are likely to have any spare sets though, as they have been discontinued. Might offer you their replacement, the Z906's, for a small fee. Who knows. Worth a try I'd say.

Thanks for the replies!

I've tried unplugging everything and plugging them back in multiple times and checked the fuse but still nothing. Just to recap everything in the system works perfectly except the subwoofer.

As to the warranty issue, i might have opened the back of the sub with the hope of it magicaly fixing the problem ( stupid i know)

I shall email Logitech and see what they can do

The fuse being referred to is not the plug fuse. There is one in the subwoofer itself. Although you may have realised that and checked it. I thought if that blows then nothing works, as Surveyor and wonko have also said. Assuming that is the case, then that can't be the problem.

As for the warranty, Logitech don't seem to be particularly strict when it comes to claiming under warranty, going by a few people's experiences. Some people have even been sent new systems without having to return the faulty one.

I thought my z5500 were the best too, until I upgraded, it took 3 years to convince myself there was better sound quality out there, and boy was I glad I did upgrade. Now runninga a 2 sspeaker yamaha hs80m setup, and it kills my logitech setup, even without the surrounding speakers. Look at this as a positive thing, time to step up a notch.
