As some of you might know, my brother had a guide dog puppy for a year. Thread here about it. This is just to give it basic training before it goes off and does the proper guide dog training.
Well he had to give up Orinn just under two months ago but he has already gotten his next one!
This time it's a Labrador, her name is Lacey.
I went down yesterday with my two dogs but couldn't stay long as they just kept trying to hump her :(

Here's some photos:

Nice photos there! Really nice looking dogs, all of them. Not sure what breed you wee one in your sig is but that's the coolest (if that's a word) dog ever I need one!

Your brother must have the most depressing job ever tbh! How many dogs has he trained up to be the 'perfect pet' only to give it away to someone else?

Obviously the dog will go on to form a longer lasting relationship with its new disbaled owner but it must be pretty bad for your bro?

It's voluntary. This is only his second. Yeah it sucks a bit but is also good because you get a free dog, all the food and equipment is paid for etc.
I don't think I'd be able to do it tbh.

You don't get a free dog though. It's like being given a free burger, you get to hold it, you can smell it, you can even taste and juices that leak, but you can't eat it, you have to give it to someone else so they can eat it.

It is noble of him, and i guess someone has to do it. Guide dogs probably have one of the best dog lifes there is, constantly with his owner, always goes on any trips with his owner. I would like to be a guide dog when i grow up i think.

Well not really, it'd be like giving the next person the burger but they also can't eat it, they just have it for longer.

I know what you mean though. It would suck having to give it up and knowing somebody else will have it for the rest of it's life.

At that moment, it seemed to him that time stood still, and the Soul of the World surged within him. When he looked into her dark eyes, and saw that her lips were poised between a laugh and silence, he learned the most important part of the language that all the world spoke – the language that everyone on earth was capable of understanding in their heart. It was love. Something older than humanity, more ancient than the desert. Something that exerted the same force whenever two pairs of eyes met, as had theirs here at the well. She smiled, and that was certainly an omen – the omen he had been awaiting, without even knowing he was, for all his life. The omen he had sought to find with his sheep and in his books, in the crystals and in the silence of the desert
