Well, it's Alberta for a start, not Alberto but I guess that's being pedantic.
Having spent some time living in AB, I don't think you can judge it's oil industry entirely on the basis of one episode of Bruce Parry (as much as I like his show). Oil isn't only extracted from AB, and if there were no demand then there would be no supply. I don't think you can necessarily blame them for exploiting a natural resource, driving their economy and raising their own standard of living. One thing I found, was the US criticism of oil sand to be totally hypocritical, I think mainly to portray themselves in a better light after Deepwater.
