i was lucky enough to get a Stalls ticket for last night's show and at face value too boot,to see Bruce at the Hammersith odeon last night.
then waiting in line the security peeps handed out leaflets saying there was to be no use of cameras at the gig or else you could be kicked out.
as i've been to quite a few shows lately, this rule is more or less applied to Pro- cameras, so later i asked a security peep if this also applied to disposable and digi cameras, to my surprise he said yes.
i was amazed, the security guy was pretty dammed surprised by this also, he said it was only his 2nd gig where it was enforced.
i asked him was it a hammy policy or was it Bruce, he said in a flash it was Bruce's management.
later on i noticed security peeps were actually going in to the stalls and giving people warnings, they did not get dragged out as far as i know, i'm not sure on how peeps at the back or in the circle got on though ?

Was the same when I saw the man himself at the Royal Albert Hall last May. Quite a few people got away with it by just turning the flash off - but any that did go off got a visit from some member of staff telling them to put it away.

we have a strict rule every now and again (at the MEN arena) at the artists request
sometime's it's no flash, sometimes it's not recording, sometimes no cameras at all, even including camera phones
it's a lot of hassle for the regular security to deal with
especially if it's not made apparent to everyone
the artists security will normally take matters into their own hands if it gets beyond their approval

oh and our NORMAL camera policy, is "35mm" which includes disposables, and normal digital cams

Pathetic.

Has anybody heard of the Elvis concert where Elvis is on a big screen but the original musicians are playing live on stage?

They actually REQUEST the audience to bring flash cameras to add the same atmosphere as Elvis's 1970's concerts. It is a contractual requirement between the organisers and the venue to waive their no-camera rule for the purposes of this concert. Any venue that won't capitulate simply doesn't get "Elvis: The Concert" coming to them.

The musicians at this show aren't exactly spring chickens anymore so if they're not bothered by flash photography, god help the other buggers.
