bt home hub and broadband problems ggrrr

i have had bt broadband for about a year now with no problems really apart from moving to vista and some connection problems all sorted now (well mostly)
Two days ago at 2 pm my broadband light went of on the hub , tryint to make phone calls with broadband line was very crackly etc , i discovered the noise etc was due to a broken wire , so i have run in new cables from the hub to my master socket , so i have a fliter into the master socket and that cable run direct into the hub , as i have always done , now i am on a 8meg package , but i used to get around 4meg download 448 kps upload

after this problem i am downloading at 16kbs max! tried bt speed test and it said broadband up rate 448 down rate 4056

ip through put 135 kps anyone want to hazarad a guess? i am sick of the bt Call centre and repeating myself 20 times over!

The IP profile should increase in at most 3 days, though your connection still seems to be fluctuating if it's dropped ~300kbps in half an hour.
 
i have been playing with the phone lines lol , i now have it at over 6mb sec so there is nothing to worry about with the low download speed at present?
 
here is tests now i have fixed mt phone line ie disconnected all except the 2 wirse in each socket ! i have gained over 2 mb download speed ,although i am still limited to around 16 kb

ip profile ?

looking at my other thread , why is my ip profile set to 135 kbs when my dowload speed is now about 7mbs? is this because i had problem with my line or has bt been playing silly buggers again!?
 
It's because your modem dropped low enough (and stayed there long enough) to trigger the reduced IP profile.
 
any one know what number to call.......bt

hi my ip profile has been stuck at 135kps for 2 days now my sync in 6789 kps

does anyone had a number i can call bt on to reset the ip profile? i am sick of indian call centres!
