BT homehub warning, BT have screwed up

I've stopped using the damn thing. It keeps connecting at ridiculous speeds (256kbps), then due to BT's system I'm stuck with that speed for the next three days. It also seems unable to handle one moderately busy torrent without killing itself - that's if I can get into the interface to open the stupid port in the first place.

Back to cheapo ADSL modem - hey presto! - 3Mbps.

luckily i signed up with bt just before this homehub nonsense started. i got myself the bt 2500v for free and it's a decent router. :p

Strange you're having problems.

I literally got mine yesterday and updated to the latest firmware right away.

Absolutely no problems for me, and it's been running for over 24 hours straight now :D

It depends where you live. I also have a friend with one whose speeds are fine because he's quite close to the exchange. The maximum speed my line is capable of is about 3Mbps, but at this speed the signal-to-noise ratio is quite low so the Hub keeps dropping the connection and reconnecting at 256k or something silly. My cheapo modem doesn't seem to feature this 'intelligence' and thus works fine!

Well after saying that I will seek another ISP because I need a reliable connection because I am on 24x7 call out (Network Engineer), I have suddenly got a good connection with no problems ???? Amazing !!!
