Just trying to play AC Black Flag for the first time since install, and am getting nowhere thanks to Uplay... can't see any of my other Ubisoft games either. On-screen message is as follows:

"There is a problem connecting to a Uplay Service. We'll restore the connection as soon as we can."

Looking around the web, there were a few issues a year or so back with people trying to connect whilst using BT Infinity (as I am now). I've tried disabling the proxy setting in Uplay as suggested in some cases but to no avail.

Anyone else with BT able to check if they can connect and play anything right now?

Just installed the Uplay app to my Google Nexus.

Signed in fine, go to MY GAMES, freezes..!

So definitely my BT Infinity internet and not my PC then.

You know what, I give up - Ubisoft games, goodbye forever.

Have disabled all anti-virus software, Windows Firewall, tried my laptop, no good. Same error message.

if you want, when I'm home from work i'll have a look through my router settings and we can compare notes?

also what AV you using - for some games for reasons unknown to me you sometimes need set an exception to allow them to access the internet - could be uplay in your case needs the same doing?

Thanks for that offer :)

Thinking about it, last time I used Uplay successfully (very rarely...) I was on a HomeHub3. Now, I have a HomeHub5 so perhaps it's the settings in here that indeed need changing.

Looks like you've got the old Uplay installed. It looks like this now. Perhaps download it again.

Latest is Jan 14th 2016 I have BT Infinity and HH5 and mine works.

WINNER! It's working :)

It's a fairly new PC so Uplay was not installed originally. Steam was installed, followed by AC Black Flag which presumably installed (an old) version of Uplay as part of it's process.

I uninstalled that version in Windows, went to the Ubisoft website to download the up-to-date version and viola, now works straight away.

Thanks @varkanoid!
