Budget ~£135 - I challange you to find my dream case!

I'd say this, as even though it's £60 it has good cooling and cable management, has the opportunity for watercooling and imo i like the look, there is also a white version for £80 or you can buy a windowed panel for the one I suggested for £15.
 
Coolermaster CM-690 II Advanced Dominator Case - Black or White
Silverstone RV02 Raven 2 Case - Black
Fractal Design Define XL Full Tower Case - Black Pearl or Titanium Grey

The case I have been looking into mostly is the Fractal Design Define XL Full Tower Case and although the reviews cooling wise aren't super these are based on out of the box cooling. The case has two optional fans on the front and one of the side for VGA cooling.
 
...plus the Fractal Design R3 has sound proofing foam. I think this is quite unusual, I chose it for this over a case with a USB 3.0 port.
 
I believe that sound proof foam doesn't work too well and just heats the up the case personally. Foam isn't that good at insulating sound really, it needs to be a hard compound without air in it to really do a good job.

I beleive currently I will be getting the lian-li case which was suggested earlyer. While I feel the coolmaster cosmos s is probably better, I rather the look of the lian-li and it's cheaper, smaller and lighter. It's cooling is also superior while having the same quality build to it that the coolmaster would have.
 
I have very similar desires for my new case (hopefully this year). I think I've found one that's almost perfect. Only problem may be it's likely not to be an air cooling beast (but WC will fix that or just a decent air cooler tbh).

Corsair's upcoming 650D looks perfect for me. I'm looking forward to seeing them out and around. Good cable management (like 600T, 700D), possibility for water cooling, looks quite subtle but very nice, side window to show off your hardware etc etc.

Only problem is it will most likely be a little out of your budget.
 
I will likely not be cleaning the filters very oftern anyway and probably just use a hoover on them from the outside without even taking them out. I have a snow dog so my case is going to be dusty regardless of filters. The only problem is they may get filled up fast, I've never had them before so I don't know. The price is also pretty good I think, though for a midi case it is expensive as really it's full size case money. However it's very big inside so argueably is like a full case. Just like the 600T was a midi but really is huge.

From my travels of the interwebs it seemed like the obsidian series wern't that good for cooling, which is a shame because they just seem to do everything else so well. Though like you say, water cooling would fix that. I don't think I'd consider just settling for a good heat sink as the gpu is what really suffers from the temperatures I believe. But I guess if you arn't overclocking it that isn't such a big deal, though gpu's seem to consistently die for me every few years so I wonder if they are getting too hot in my case.

I'd imagine the new case will come out at £250 plus easily. Don't think I could justify that price.
 
You have to clean dust filters - they collect all the dust that would have gone in your case. So once your dust filter is dusty, your airflow is impaired. Gotta clean them - it's pretty easy (on the P193) :)

Yeah I did suspect as much, I've yet to see anyone mention problems with the filters so I presume they are fine on this model. I also just happened to note one retailer had that the case is designed to trap fire on its list of features haha. Well I can't say I have ever planned on having a fire in my case anyway.

Cooling for air will still be good, just not the best. I don't overclock GPU, so shouldn't be a issue for me personally, but if you're having problems with OC'd GPUs busting, you might want to dial it down. What sort of temps do you get on load for the GPUs?

The case will be £145! Might not be what you think, it's a lot smaller than the 700D and fits between that and the 600T.
 
From looking at the pics on the ocuk product description page, the filters on the PC-B25FB look as if theyre accessed in the same way as the full tower A70F i have, literally takes two seconds to get at them, you simply pull the entire front panel off.

Oh it wasn't overclocking which killed them as I don't generally overclock my gpu's as I buy ones which are powerful enough for what I need anyway. But my ocuk 8800GTX died just after its 1 year warranty, typically and now my bfg 285gtx (which no longer has a warranty as bfg went bust) is showing signs of fatigue. Not to mention the 2 other gpu's I've had die before. I just seem to be incapable of keeping them and I have no idea why.

Oh yaeh I'd looked at that case on ocuk already, the name just didn't click. It's a pretty nice design, although personally the window does nothing for me. But the finish on it is top quality. If it's cooling is decent I'd be tempted to pick it up as I do love the insides of it. I suspect ocuk aren't the cheapest about either ;). Though april is quite a wait for me and I have to fit it in with uni as to when I upgrade. Has to come into one of my 6 months off hehe, was planning either in February or Easter, which I guess april would work for.

Thats because they were the best card's I could get for my money at the time. My next card is likely going to be amd as I think they have made quite a good comeback and I don't want to spend £300 on a card any more. The problem Is I want a decent warranty and I can't get them with amd. 2 years doesn't cut it and there are only a few with 3 years on them, really I want 5 years.
