I apologize as I know this sort of question gets asked about a million times, but I guess everyone's scenario is slightly different in building pc's.

Considering that technology moves forward so fast, I am stuck and need help, and would appreciate the feedback.

I am going to make a pc for my brother, and I have a budget of £800 as stated,

I would like the pc to have specs 1 level higher than the following pc, which is my own that I made last year.

AMD Athlon 64 3500+
Asus A8V AGP
MSI 6800GT
Corsair 1GB pc3200
Hyundai L90D+
Antec 500W
Thermaltake Tsunami Black w/Window

This pc is top notch for me, even though it's AGP. This was due to the fact that at the time, PCI-E and SLI were only just coming into the market, and I had no reason to go that route.

What I'd like to make now for my brother is a pc based on PCI-E.

I don;t know of any pitfalls that I should watch out for, so please inform me if there are any.

All comments are appreciated. Thanks for your help in advance.

Thank you for the quick reply, seems very decent too.

I have a slight change in plan, I want to add the Logitech Z5400 speakers to that setup, and still be in budget, or be +£50. which component do you think can be changed to adjust the price?
