Bug Splats and heated windscreens..

Hi Guys.

I know the colour of mine doesnt help (atleast it isnt yellow huh)

But what is the best way to get rid of bug splat? I use the proper screenwash mix etc, but it never seems to come off.. any help or advice?

Yup, its an option, mine has the visibility pack, so auto lights and wipers as well.

Auto Glym Fast Glass seems to be good, used it on the weekend, just spray and I used kitchen towel to rub over the window.

Kitchen cleaning pad with a plastic (NOT METAL!) scourer thingy, works for me.

I didnt realise cars other than fords came with heated screens :eek:

i thought ford had some patent on the technology.

Me too. I remember when I went with dad to the Peugeot 407 launch they were comparing it to the Mondeo and mentioned that they couldn't put a heated windscreen in the 407 because it was patented by Ford. Maybe BMW have some deal with Ford to use it in the Mini.

It would appear that on the new shape MINI it's been removed from the visibility pack as well..

I dont think there are many... my mums cooper doesnt have it as well as most people I know from the owners club.

Anyone know how many years left on the patent? Can't be that long as there were granadas in the 80's that had this technology, I think?
