We finally got some builders in to sort out our garage and workshop. The garage door was a four panel door which was really abused and you couldn't really call it a door anymore and the roof of the workshop had collapsed years ago. We got one of those bug companies in to do the roof and they're coming back now to replace it as the water doesn't run off it.
We got the builders in to replace the door, fix the window in the shed an sort out a floor in the shed.
Here's the before picture:

I'll start with the shed first. Basically all they had to do was put a floor in an we used to have a chipboard floor (i think) raised on wooden joists which sat bolted into concrete. They cleaned it all up and took the rotted wood away.
We then discovered water was coming in from somewhere as the sides of the floor were damp after it rained. He then said raising the floor would be the best thing to do but didn't address the leak and buy mum told him not to do anything but then he bought loads of blocks and put them down in a bed of sharp sand and wanted to put plywood on top even though the blocks just absorbed all the water!

We're now going to tell him to get rid of them and leave it as another builder we got a quote from said laying a plastic sheet down putting some white stuff down (he couldn't say the word in English) with some net then concrete would sort it out only after he raised the paving outside to see where the leak was coming from which seemed like a good idea to me.
This is only part 1 as I'm late and have put too many images in already but I'll be back with the garage including my war on spidersville!!!
