I want to turn my skinny body in to a slightly less skinny frame.

However I read the sticky and that life style sounded like one of those soft in the head muscle types, I dont want to look like hulk hogan, just be a bit stronger, no 6 pack or anything.

So should i bother with all that crappy rubbish or not?

It's not crappy rubbish but sound advice. You are not going to gain muscle overnight and turn into Hulk Hogan, that would take many years. If you are not prepared to make a lifestyle change your body will stay the same.

You seem to think that if you pick up a pair of dumbells, you will suddenly become vascular, thick and ripped to a high degree. This is not the case. To reach the level you probably have in mind takes years of dedication, the right diet, and the right training.

The sticky is a great initial guide, whatever your goal in weight training.

are you sure? That sounds like a massive life style change

eat every 3 hours? pfft.

This is true if you want to bulk as cleanly as possible. Muscle growth won't be inhibited if you don't, though you'll still need to eat more calories than your maintenance level.

thats very much for body building, but the principles are the same regardless, you need a diet and exercise routine that will allow muscle growth.

Well if you want to improve your body you have to do the work, simple as. GordyR's sticky has helped countless people here to devise a workout and diet that works for them. You shouldn't be dismissing it with poor stereotypical views.

idd, first thing you might want to change is your thoughts towards getting bigger / stronger etc
its not all soft in the head meatheads ;]
